We collect only what we need to place you in a group, get your companion to you, and keep in touch about your membership. We never sell your information, and we never share it for advertising.
What we collect, and why
- Your name and email address, so you can sign in, so your host knows who is in her group, and so we can send you membership email: your sign-in codes, receipts and your yearly renewal notice, and notes from your host or from us.
- Your ZIP code, to find groups near you. A search on the home page isn't saved to any account; the ZIP code you give when you join is kept with your membership.
- Your phone number, only if you ask to join an Approval group. It goes to that group's host so she can call you, and to our administrators. No one else sees it.
- Your shipping address, collected at checkout and on your account page, to mail your printed companion, and a record of which companions we have sent you, so we never send one twice. If your host receives a bulk shipment for her group, your companion travels in her box instead.
- Your group's roster details: when you joined, your membership status and renewal date, and, if your host records it, meeting attendance. Your host sees these for her own group only.
- A note you choose to write when you ask to join a group or ask for a scholarship. Scholarship requests are read by Brittany and our administrators only.
- Hosts: the town and meeting pattern of your group (shown publicly as your first name and last initial, your town, and "Once a month" with your meeting pattern), your training progress, and the name you sign on the host agreement. We never show a host's church, email, or address publicly.
- Sponsor a Sister gifts: a giver's name and email, for her receipt. For a named gift, she also gives us the recipient's first and last name and email, and may add a message. We use the recipient's details only to deliver the gift: we email her once with her personal claim link, and send it once more only if it goes astray. We don't add her to any list. She sees the message, and she sees who gave the gift only if the giver chose to tell her. When she claims it, the giver receives a note naming her by first name only.
What we don't collect
- We don't store your card number. Payments are handled by Stripe.
- We don't use passwords. You sign in with a code or link sent to your email.
- We don't use advertising trackers on this site. We use one cookie, to keep you signed in.
Who processes it for us
- Stripe processes dues, Sponsor a Sister gifts, and renewals, and keeps your payment details. We keep a record of each payment (its date and amount) for our accounts.
- Resend delivers our email.
- Our own server stores your account, your group, and the member documents.
- When we order companions, we send the printer the names and shipping addresses for that order, and nothing else.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while you are a member and for a reasonable time afterward, so you can come back easily and so we can keep accurate financial records. Ask us and we will delete your account, except for records we must keep for taxes and accounting.
Your choices
- You can update your membership, cancel renewal, or change your card from your account page.
- You can unsubscribe from a host's invitation email with the link at its foot.
- To see, correct, or delete what we hold about you, reply to any email from us or write to us at 30 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801.
Changes
If we change how we use your information in a way that matters, we will email members before the change takes effect.
